Is It Worth Buying A New Gas Boiler?
Currently, absolutely yes. In fact, replacing an old gas boiler with a modern energy efficient model is a great way to cut your heating costs down and reduce your carbon footprint. There’s still a number of years left until we switch away from using gas. The first stage of this transition (around 2028) will be to introduce a 20% blend of hydrogen to natural gas – most modern boilers (and all new boilers installed by Macgas Coventry) will be able to operate on this blend with no problems, so there’s no rush to install a 100% hydrogen boiler. In fact, these probably won’t be commonplace until well into the 2030’s.
